Institute of Research in Education

The Institute of Research in Education is the independent center of management knowledge, offering its services to all whose aim is to create a better administrative environment for Polish schools.

Our view on education:

The education is the area of special meaning. It is here where the hard laws of economy crosses with extremely subtle, didactive and educative activities. It is here where the different dealings of local community appears: of students and their parents, of teachers and other workers of self-government, and the headmasters themselves. And all of this in situation of very complicated law adjustments and with constantly decreasing (with the decreasing in number of students) flow of money.

All this cause that educational management, on the level of a school or educational institutions and whole local government entity, requires broad knowledge, numerous skills and great intuition. For in the education there is no simple criteria of success, which in a company would be a profit, and everyone who is responsible for the institution must set tasks oneself.

The headmaster is usually an employer of several tens of people and leads the organization of several millions zlotys of annual budget. It is a quite big company. In industry, it would be lead by a board of several experts with strictly divided competencies. But Polish headmaster is alone! Of course, he often has a deputy but bears a personal responsibility for all of assistant's decisions.

Noticing and appreciating the magnitude of headmasters' duties we decided to meet their needs and create the independent center of management knowledge.

Our team

The Institute's creator and his first President is dr Antoni Jeżowski, professor of State Higher Professional School in Głogów - remarkable expert in scope of the educational law and finances, long-term chief editor of monthly magazine Headmaster, author of numerous books and hundreds of articles, columns and essays. The well-known educator, constantly inspiring us for new researches.
